Aftercare Instructions for Laser Hair Removal

Immediately After Your Appointment
• Redness and Swelling: Mild redness or swelling around the treated areas is normal and typically subsides within 24-48 hours. Although rare with our Soprano Ice technology, allow your skin to breathe post-laser. For sensitive skin, avoid using makeup.
• Cool Compress: To soothe lingering pinkness, apply a cool compress with a clean cloth to the area for 10-15 minutes. Avoid direct ice application.
• Avoid Heat: Stay away from hot showers, saunas, steam rooms, or strenuous exercise for at least 24 hours to prevent skin irritation.
First 48 Hours
• Moisturize Gently: Use a soothing, fragrance-free moisturizer like aloe vera to keep your skin hydrated and clean.
• Avoid Harsh Products: Avoid exfoliants, scrubs, or active ingredients such as retinol or glycolic acid for at least two weeks before and after your laser session.
• Stay Makeup-Free: If your face was treated, avoid makeup for 24 hours. If necessary, use non-comedogenic products.
Sun Protection
SPF is a Must: Protect the treated area with SPF 50 or higher sunscreen, like our Coola Sunscreen, which is 70% organic and perfect for sensitive skin.
• No Tanning: Avoid sun exposure and tanning beds for at least two weeks to prevent hyperpigmentation.
Hair Shedding
• What to Expect: Hair shedding may occur over the next two weeks, which is a sign the treatment is working. After 5-7 days, you can gently exfoliate the area to help remove the shedding hairs.
• Avoid Waxing or Plucking: Stick to shaving as the only method for managing hair growth between sessions.
Long-Term Care
• Stay Consistent: For best results, attend all your scheduled sessions. Laser hair removal is most effective when treatments are spaced four weeks apart for the first six sessions.
• Monitor Your Skin: If you notice prolonged irritation, blistering, or unusual side effects, contact us immediately.

Schedule your laser session 2-3 weeks before your trip to allow your skin to recover fully.

During the summer months, please:
• Avoid Direct Sunlight: Stay out of direct sunlight for at least 4 consecutive hours during the week before and after your laser session.
• Limit Self-Tanning: This guideline applies to tanning beds and self-tanners as well.
